Successful installation of external wall insulation and a coloured render finish to this home IN Manchester.

Project Description

The client in Manchester requested rendering for a small domestic extension to match the existing traditional roughcast render on other parts of the house. They also needed some of the old render to be repaired around a window. The client required a quick turnaround, and the work was completed within five days.

The blockwork was first prepared and filled using Expamet mesh and a sand and cement mixture to prevent holes in the render. All corners and windows were then reinforced with corner beads, and stop beads were applied around the bottom of the wall. A scratch coat of sand and cement was applied to ensure proper adhesion of the final roughcast render. Once the scratch coat had dried, a mixture of sand, cement, granite chippings, and water was hand-applied using the dashing technique.

The finished result was a roughcast texture that can be painted to match the existing render on the property.
